following the market day Andy and I, packed up ship and headed out on a very bumpy road towards One Arm Point. With us we had a stack of paintings from Virtual Sunset Strip. these paintings soon turned into materials for use in a workshop with the Bardi Jaawi community and a school group from Perth. Vivien McDermott the local resident artist started making a great bird installation and many followed her lead, by the end of the day the tree was brimming with colourful birds. And we heard some great stories and techniques from guru Ashely Hunter of local colourful birds and how to attract them.

this awesome old school fold-out table was kindly given to me by friends in Perth Tom and Zarah. With a new Virtual Sunset Strip paint job it is the best camping table of all time, and will no doubt confront further intervention on this journey. Out camp spot in Gambanan Camp at One Arm Point

HMS & Boardart, Boardart got some good time in the water around Red Bluff and Gnarloo! didn’t score the renown heaving barrels, but it was a good play ground for surfing the painting (boardart) and making some Surfing Paintings.

Old mate Peter, was arriving as I was leaving my extended breakfast stop, Peter was very low on gas and needed a lift 60km to Port Headland. I was possibly over excited to give Peter a lift and document the journey… Team orange on the open road!

IMG_0528

Just outside of Port Headland I picked up a hitch hiker, named Kerry. Kerry was good company and a great studio assistant for the number of stop offs between Port Headland and Broome!

A Big Tree: Pemberton

I pushed through fear of heights to climb this 75m high tree with small metal pegs on it! At the top I found a nice little area to utilise some painting materials I had in my backpack and the space between me and the ground. At the top while painting I suddenly morphed into a blue man, then climbed down.
